iRacing Suspension Tuning Guide

Suspension controls how the car responds to load transfer, bumps, and driver inputs. Springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars work together.

Springs

Stiffer springs reduce body roll and can improve response. Softer springs increase mechanical grip over bumps. Front vs rear stiffness affects balance—stiffer front tends toward understeer, stiffer rear toward oversteer.

Dampers

Dampers control compression and rebound. Bump (compression) affects how the car absorbs bumps. Rebound affects how quickly the spring returns. Mismatched damping can cause instability.

Anti-Roll Bars

Stiffer front ARB = more understeer. Stiffer rear ARB = more oversteer. Adjust in small steps. ARB changes are often the quickest way to tune balance.
