The Ligier JS P320 is the entry-level prototype in iRacing. With 460hp from a Nissan V8 and balanced aero, it bridges the gap between GT cars and LMP2. More accessible than the P217, it rewards smooth driving and setup tuning.

Driving Characteristics

  • Aero stability – Stable through medium and high-speed corners, planted in slow turns
  • Low-speed understeer – Common on corner exit. Setup and technique can address it
  • Braking – Consistent and predictable. Often an advantage over rival LMP3s
  • Low-speed rotation – Good front-end grip and rotation at low speed

Setup Guidelines

Suspension

  • Soften the front anti-roll bar to reduce low-speed understeer on exit
  • Soften front springs to reduce understeer; stiffen rear springs for more on-throttle rotation
  • Spring changes affect ride height at speed—check aero balance

Brake Bias & Tyres

  • Brake bias can be set further rearward than other LMP3s—experiment for feel
  • Start tyre pressures at minimum for optimal grip
  • Target 85–95°C operating window. Use brake ducts to manage temps

Progression Path

The Ligier suits drivers moving from GT to prototypes. Master it before stepping up to the Dallara P217.

Tip: Focus on smooth throttle application on exit to manage understeer. Aggressive stabs of throttle will amplify it.
