GT3 cars feature ABS and traction control, making them forgiving for mistakes but still demanding for pace. Tyre management, brake bias, and TC/ABS tuning separate fast drivers from the rest. Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Corvette, Mercedes, and others are available.

Tyre Wear & Management

iRacing's GT3 tyre model rewards smooth driving. Cold tyres are slick for the first few laps. Temperature and wear build gradually and affect grip noticeably over a stint.

  • Avoid locking brakes—flat spots accumulate quickly and can force early pits
  • Smooth steering and consistent braking preserve tyres
  • In longer races, tyre strategy is as important as raw lap time

ABS & Traction Control

Both are adjustable. Map brake bias and TC to buttons or dials so you can change them during sessions. Lower TC can yield faster exits but risks wheelspin. Higher TC is safer but costs time. Experiment per car and track.

Brake Bias

Slightly rear-biased can help prevent front lockups. Move forward as confidence and conditions change. Adjust for trail braking—rear bias can aid rotation but may cause rear lockup if too aggressive.

Car Differences

Each GT3 has different characteristics. Porsche tends toward oversteer; front-engined cars like BMW and Corvette can understeer. Try a few in test drive to find one that suits your style.

Tip: Use telemetry to compare brake and throttle traces. Smooth application beats aggressive inputs for both pace and tyre life.
