iRacing Brake Bias Guide
Brake bias splits braking force between front and rear. It affects lockup tendency, rotation under braking, and stability. Map it to a dial or buttons for in-session adjustment.
Front vs Rear
More front bias = more stable, less rotation, front lockup risk. More rear bias = more rotation (helps trail braking), rear lockup risk. Most cars run front-biased (e.g. 52–58% front).
Trail Braking
Rearward bias can aid rotation when trail braking. Too far rear and the rear locks first. Experiment per car and corner.
During a Stint
As tyres wear, balance can shift. Adjust bias during the race if you notice lockups or instability.
