iRacing BMW M4 GT4 Guide
The BMW M4 GT4 (G82) is an entry-level GT car in iRacing. It runs in the GT4 Falken Tyre Challenge and Falken Tyre Sports Car Challenge. Front-engined, rear-drive, with GT4 aero and BMW’s typical stability under braking.
Car Characteristics
- Layout: Front-engined, rear-wheel drive. Good braking stability
- Engine: Inline-6. Strong mid-range and top end
- Aero: GT4 package. Balanced for the class
- Assists: ABS. Smooth throttle on exit to manage rear grip
Series
GT4 Falken Tyre Challenge (Fixed) and Falken Tyre Sports Car Challenge (open, with LMP3). Suits D- and C-licence drivers moving from production or rookie cars.
Driving Tips
- Braking: Stable and predictable. Use it to set up turn-in
- Turn-in: Good front-end grip. Trail brake to rotate, then unwind and add throttle
- Exit: Progressive throttle. Avoid sharp inputs that unload the rear
Tip: The M4 GT4 is forgiving under braking. Use that to brake a bit later and carry more speed into the corner, then focus on a clean exit.
