Compare against a faster teammate or use crew rooms to line up comparable sessions — no desktop install, just drop the file at pitdelta.co. Race planning upgrades — The session timeline from our July note is now live on race planning: warmup → pre-quali → qualifying → grid → green, with separate countdowns for session start and green flag. https://www.fusion-racing.org/race-planning.php

iRacing hub — Track records are linked from the main iRacing section alongside track guides and the apps directory.

For the team

Garage61 integration — Admin tools to connect Garage61, sync team practice laps, pull track records, and match drivers to Garage61 slugs on member profiles. Practice mileage and session data show on team member edit pages when linked.

Strategy & prep — Stint planning now uses real session timings and per-driver prep pace; rain chance can be set on stints before a driver is assigned; Discord event messages explain the special-event session format (30 min warmup, pre-quali, quali, grid, green).

News feeds — RSS news items older than 12 months are pruned automatically on the hourly cron, keeping the news page lean.

Security — Tighter upload validation, safer OAuth token storage, and extra server rules to block sensitive files from the web.

On track since June

Watkins Glen 6 Hour — 20 June · Dallara P217 Two cars out: a hard-fought P2 (fastest lap Stephen Prescott) and a P12 (fastest lap Stan van den Brink). Podium for the team at the Glen — and a reminder how quickly fortune can swing in endurance racing.

Spa 24 Hours — 11 July · Ferrari 296 GT3 P28 in top split, 606 laps completed. Fastest lap by Stan van den Brink. A proper special-event grind — well done everyone who put in the hours.

6 Hours of Road America — 25 July · Dallara P217 P7, 176 laps, fastest lap by Moritz Schneider. Solid result despite connection drama and a costly stop-and-hold.

What’s new on the site

Racing Diary — Driver profiles now pull in iRacing race history, with filters and charts so you can see how someone’s season is shaping up.

New track guides — Fresh iRacing guides for Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Motegi, and Virginia International Raceway, alongside the rest of the guide library.

Paint & livery gallery — Gallery listings tidied up with clearer downloads and Trading Paints links.

For the team

Race planning and strategy tools are getting a proper upgrade: clearer session timelines (warmup → quali → green), smarter stint planning using real prep pace, better Discord / reminder timing around green flag, and tighter security around uploads and API tokens.

Some of that is already live; the rest is rolling out shortly. If something looks new on race weekend, that’s intentional.

The next major challenge for FUSION Racing has arrived as we take on one of the biggest endurance events of the year—the 24 Hours of Spa Presented by Falken Tyre.

We'll be tackling the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in our Ferrari 296 GT3, racing for a full 24 hours across one of the most demanding and iconic circuits in world motorsport.

From the steep climb through Eau Rouge and Raidillon to the flat-out run through Blanchimont, Spa rewards precision, teamwork, and consistency. With changing weather, heavy GT traffic, and a full day of racing ahead, every lap will matter.

🎨 PAINT & LIVERY GALLERY
- **Trading Paints links (8 June)** — Optional **Trading Paints URL** on each livery in admin. Public gallery cards show **View on Trading Paints** when set. Run `sql/migration_gallery_trading_paints_url.sql` in phpMyAdmin if you have not already.
- **Gallery sort options (16 June)** — Admin → Paint & Livery Gallery now controls how the public gallery is ordered: **Default order** (display order) or **Car name (A–Z)**. The admin list has its own sort toggle for managing entries.

📺 YOUTUBE VIDEOS PAGE FIX (8 June)
The Videos page stopped loading when YouTube’s `search.list` API began returning errors for our channel. **youtube.php** now uses the channel uploads playlist, falls back to the public RSS feed, and no longer caches API error responses. Videos should display reliably again.

📊 RACING DIARY — iRACING SEASON CALENDAR
Driver profile Racing Diary season filters now follow the **official iRacing build schedule**, not calendar months:

- **2026 Season 2** — 17 March to 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- **2026 Season 3** — 16 June to 7 September 2026 (UTC)
- **2026 Season 4** — starts 8 September 2026 (UTC)

“This season” on driver profiles now matches the season you are actually racing in, including the Week 13 build gap (9–15 June). A hint appears when races exist on file but none fall in the current season window.

🏁 RACE RESULTS PAGE
- **Driver statistics table (20 June)** — The [Race Results](https://www.fusion-racing.org/results.php) page now includes per-driver stats: races entered, podiums, fastest laps, and related totals from our team result history.
- **Former member handling (21 June)** — Clicking a driver who is no longer active shows a clear **Driver No Longer Active** page instead of a broken link. Inactive drivers on the results page show a **Former member** badge; their historical results remain visible.

🔧 ADMIN AND RELIABILITY FIXES
- **Add race result (20 June)** — Fixed a database error that blocked saving new race results from Admin → Add Result.
- **Code quality** — Continued type-hint and static-analysis improvements across `iracing_api.php`, `racing_diary.php`, driver endpoints, and shared includes (no visible change for most visitors, but easier to maintain).

We have added three full corner-by-corner guides to the track guides hub:

- 🏁 Snetterton Circuit 300 (18 May) — Riches, Wilson, Palmer, Coram, Murrays, and BTCC-style racecraft.
- 🗻 Fuji International Speedway – Grand Prix (31 May) — Turn 1, 100R, Advan Hairpin, Dunlop, final chicane, and alternative layouts.
- 🇺🇸 Road America – Full Course (31 May) — Carousel, Kink, Canada Corner, and the full 14-turn lap.

🔍 TRACK GUIDES HUB AND SEARCH
The track guides index now loads automatically from our central guide registry, so new guides appear on the hub as soon as they are published — no more hardcoded card lists. ✨

We also updated the site-wide guide search index so Fuji, Road America, Snetterton, Monza, Oschersleben, Imola, and others are findable from the driver guides search box. Both new guides were added to the sitemap for search engines.

📊 RACING DIARY IMPROVEMENTS
Driver profiles now show a richer Racing Diary with race history synced from iRacing via our existing driver-stats cron job.

Recent improvements include:

- 📈 Per-license-category iRating and Safety Rating charts — switch between Sports Car, Formula, Oval, and other categories and the graph updates correctly.
- 🏷️ Better race tagging using iRacing license category data so filters match the discipline you are viewing.
- 💾 Category-aware chart data stored when driver stats are refreshed.

View any driver profile to see their diary in action.

🔔 RACE NOTIFICATIONS AND DRIVER PREP
We built a full race notification workflow for team events:

- ✅ When a new race is scheduled, assigned drivers receive an availability request.
- ⏰ Three days before a race, drivers get a prep reminder to submit fuel per lap, average lap time, and stint notes.
- 🔗 Drivers can respond via secure token links without needing to log in to admin.
- 👀 Admins see participation status and prep submissions on the Race Prep overview and Race Responses pages.
- 🤖 A daily cron job (send_race_notifications.php) handles automated reminders — set it up in cPanel if you have not already.
- ⚙️ Notification preferences in Admin > Settings now cover availability, prep, and schedule reminders.

💬 DISCORD TOOLS FOR EVENTS
Two new admin modules help coordinate the team on Discord:

Special Event Notifications 🎉
- Manage Discord webhook channels in Admin > Discord > Webhook Channels.
- Send formatted embed notifications for major iRacing events (Daytona 24, Bathurst 12H, Spa 24, Le Mans, Indy 500, and more).
- 📝 Pre-built message templates load automatically when you pick an event — just set the date/time and send.
- @ Mention drivers by their Discord user ID (stored on each team member profile).

Event Interest Campaigns 🙋
- Send an interest check for any upcoming event — calendar import, team race, special event, or custom name.
- Drivers reply in Discord with Interested, Maybe, or Not available.
- Track responses in Admin > Discord > Event Interest Campaigns with summary counts and per-driver notes.

Team member profiles now include Discord Display Name and Discord User ID fields for mentions.

👥 TEAM MEMBER ADMIN FIXES
We resolved several hosting issues that blocked saving team member edits on cPanel:

- ✏️ Member editing now runs through /admin/team/members.php?edit={id} — a URL that works reliably on shared hosting.
- 🔀 Backup route: /admin/team-member.php?id={id}
- 🛡️ WAF-safe save handling with encoded payloads to avoid ModSecurity 403 errors on form submit.
- ↪️ Legacy edit-member.php URLs redirect to the new flow.

If you manage team profiles, use the new edit links from the Team Members list.

🔧 OTHER FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
- 📧 Email settings test button now works (Admin > Settings > Test Email).
- 🔒 Request guard updated so admin routes are not blocked by access-control rules.
- 👤 Driver profile widget links corrected for public member pages.
- 🎨 iRacing hub layout and styling refinements.

We have rolled out several improvements to fusion-racing.org today. Here is what changed.

NAVIGATION AND LINKS
We ran a full internal link check across the site and fixed broken or outdated links so pages, hubs, and guides connect correctly. Updates include:

- Driver recruitment page — links now point to the correct iRacing driver guides and track guides under /iracing/.
- Guide search — track guide URLs updated to /iracing/track-guides/ so search results open the right pages.
- Track guides hub — individual track guide links corrected from the iRacing guides section.
- iRacing Apps hub — back links and hub navigation fixed on app category and detail pages.
- Store page — admin settings link now goes to Admin > Settings in the correct location.
- Team calendar import (admin) — Back to Dashboard and Cancel links fixed.
- Driver details — member profile links from the public driver widget now use the correct path.

LEGACY URLS STILL WORK
If you have bookmarks or old links, these paths now redirect automatically to the current locations:

- /iracing-guides/... → /iracing/iracing-guides/...
- /track-guides/... → /iracing/track-guides/...
- /admin/settings.php → /admin/system/settings.php

You should not need to update bookmarks, but using the new URLs is best for sharing.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
- Fewer dead ends when browsing guides, the iRacing hub, recruitment pages, and admin tools.
- Search and cross-links between driver guides, track guides, and apps should be more reliable.
- Old shared links should still land on the right content via redirects.

Over the last two weeks we've been improving the FUSION Racing site to make our iRacing guides and tools easier to find and use. Here's what's changed.

Guide and apps search

We've tightened up how search works across the site. The main iRacing driver guides page now has a single search that covers all guides (cars, tracks, racecraft, licences, setups, and more). Type a few keywords and get instant results. The iRacing app index uses the same search style, so you can quickly find overlays, telemetry tools, spotters, dashboards, Trading Paints, and more. The track guides section has its own search so you can jump to Spa, Daytona, Sebring, Bathurst, Silverstone, and other circuits without scrolling.

Content and structure

We've expanded and organised the content that backs these searches. The central guide index now includes all driver guides, car guides, track guides, and the apps section so search stays consistent wherever you use it. The Apps & Tools area is fully wired into this system, so overlays, telemetry, spotters, dashboards, paint apps, and force feedback tools are all searchable from one place.

We'll keep adding and updating guides, and we're continuing to refine the site for SEO and usability so it stays useful for the team and the wider sim racing community. If you have feedback or ideas, drop them in Discord.

We are thrilled to announce our team will be taking on the ultimate endurance test - the iRacing Daytona 24 Hour race! From 17th Janraury, our virtual racing team will push ourselves to the limit, racing continuously for 24 hours through day and night on the legendary Daytona International Speedway.
